About the Author

Katelyn grew up in central Minnesota and attended college at the University of Minnesota for mechanical engineering.  She held several internships during her college years including one that gave her the opportunity to live in Charlotte, NC for 8 months.  During college, she was deeply involved with SWE (Society of Women Engineers) and was instilled with a strong desire to share her passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) with the next generation.  Now graduated, she lives in southeast Iowa and works for DuPont Pioneer (a.k.a. Corteva™ the Agricultural Division of DowDuPont™) as a Plant Operations Specialist in the Emerging Leaders Program.  Her passion for STEM has followed her in her post-grad life and has inspired her to actively involve herself in STEM Outreach efforts (both individually and through other organizations).  Katelyn also has a passion for local government, and enjoys sharing her experiences with others.
